About the Owner
Hi everyone, I'm Shelby the owner of Daisy Lops Rabbitry! I was born and raised in Alpena, Michigan, and have had a love for animals my whole life. Growing up surrounded by pets helped shape my passion for providing animals with the love, care, and attention they deserve.
When I'm not spending time with my bunnies, I work as a dental office receptionist and enjoy making connections with everyone in my community. In my free time, you will usually see me outdoors enjoying God's creation, spending time with my family and friends, being the best Auntie, while also exploring the beauty of Northeast Michigan.
Fall is my favorite time of year, I am such a fall girlie, I love all the colors the trees have, the crisp air, and pumpkin spice everything! I also love Summer as well, I love making memories with all my loved ones from boating to camping, to swimming, to late night bonfires. :)
My faith is at the center of everything I do, and Jesus Christ is my Savior. At Daisy Lops Rabbitry, I strive to raise each bunny with love, kindness, and care, treating them as cherished members of the family before they join yours.
One of the special members of our rabbitry is my Holland Lop buck Blu (officially Eli from Willow Tree Rabbitry), who has captured my heart with his sweet personality and gentle nature. He represents everything I love about the Holland Lop breed.
I started Daisy Lops Rabbitry because I wanted to share these wonderful rabbits with other families. I picked the name Daisy Lops Rabbitry, because I love daisies, they are my favorite and because I love these bunnies. Holland Lops are known for their affectionate personalities, calm temperaments, and their ability to become the best companion. My goal is to raise healthy, well-socialized bunnies that will bring joy, comfort, and love to your homes.

Eli (Blu) is his name here at Daisy Lops. He is a very sweet and snuggly boy; who loves to go for car rides and loves to be held. He is a huge part of Daisy Lops. He will be our main breeder. We cannot wait to see what offspring he produces.

Reservation/ Sales Policy
-To ensure each of our bunnies go to a loving home, we follow a simple reservation process.
-
A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve one of our bunnies.
-Deposits go towards the final purchase price. Bunnies are held until they are 8 weeks old before they can go home. The remaining balance is due at pickup. -
If you do happen to change your mind, deposits are not refundable but may be transferred to a future litter (if available). If we feel a home is not suitable for our bunnies, we have the right to refuse sale. We want our bunnies to go to a safe, loving, and caring home.

Healthy Foods
Diet Tips
~ Bunnies are very easy to take care of but their stomachs are very sensitive so we want to give you some insight on what they can and cannot have, so our families can raise and care for happy healthy bunnies forever. Always when trying a new food, do your research and give moderately.

Unlimited Timothy Hay (adult rabbits ages 1yr+).

Unlimited Alfalfa Hay (babies under 6 months).

Always have fresh clean water.

High-quality rabbit pellets.

Safe Vegetables: Romaine Lettuce, Cilantro, Dandelion greens, Cucumber, and green leaf lettuce.

Healthy Treats (in moderation)

Brushing
Grooming Tips
-Brush your bunny 1-2 times a week, and more often during seasonal shedding. Regular brushing helps remove loose fur and reduces the chance of wool block caused by swallowed hair. Make sure to use a very soft brush (baby brush).
Nail Trims
~Trim your bunny's nails every 4-8 weeks, depending on how quickly they grow. Keeping nails short helps with snagging, discomfort, and changes in the way your bunny walks. ~We trim our bunnies nails every 3 weeks.
~ Cat nail trimmers work best!
~Keeping your bunny well-groomed helps them stay healthy, comfortable and happy. Holland Lops have soft, dense coats that benefit from regular care.

Ear Checks
~Because Holland Lops have floppy ears, it's a great idea to check their ears weekly for wax buildup, redness, unusual odor, or signs of infection. If you notice anything concerning, contact a rabbit-savvy veterinarian.
Eyes & Nose
-Your bunny's eyes should be bright and clear, and their nose should be clean and dry. Any discharge, swelling, or persistent sneezing should be evaluated by a rabbit-experienced vet.
Make Grooming Positive
-Handle your bunny with gentle hands and speak softly during grooming sessions. Take your time, give your bunny a break if they need it. Make them as comfortable as possible. That helps them feel safe and secure. Offer a rabbit-safe treat during and after grooming time, it helps bunnies associate grooming with a positive experience.
Never Bathe your Rabbit
-Rabbits should never be given a full bath. Bathing can cause extreme stress and may lead to hyperthermia. If your bunny gets dirty, gently spot- clean the area with a damp cloth or consult your veterinarian for the safest cleaning method.
- I use unscented baby wipes and waterless shampoo. :)
Keep Their Bottom Clean
-Check your bunny's bottom regularly to make sure it stays clean and dry. A healthy rabbit should be able to keep themselves clean. If you notice feces stuck to their fur, it may be a sign of underlying health or diet issue that should be addressed.
Check Their Teeth
-Rabbit teeth grow continuously throughout their lives. Providing unlimited hay and safe chew toys helps wear the down naturally. If your bunny stops eating, drools, or has difficulty chewing, schedule an exam with a veterinarian.
